How To Get To Bangkok City Central From Suvarnabhumi Airport

Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand

Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (SARL) already started to operate by end of August 2010, so now we can get to the city easily using this rapid train which costs us Baht 150 (Express Line). We'll reach city centre in just 15 minutes. This is good because my last trip to Bangkok was February 2010 and we had to spend Baht 800 for taxi.

.. to Harbour Front destination ..

Universal studio is located in Sentosa Island. How to get there from your hotel ? Just take MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) to Harbour Front destination. Better to check with your hotel receptionist the nearest MRT station from your hotel. You may need an interchange to the Harbour Front, don't worry, transfer is easy, just check the sign board. It will not cost you more than S$2 wherever you go. From Harbour Front you proceed to Sentosa island by monorel.

It is a touching screen machine, so you just select the destination, enter number of tickets you want to buy then insert your coins or notes as per the total amount shown on ticket machine, you will get your changes, no worry he he.You will find this a great way to travel around Singapore using the train.

Infront of Universal Studio' gate

It is adviseable for you to buy Universal Studio ticket from internet only which will be S$ 6 cheaper than walk in ticket. The walk in ticket costs you S$72 while internet costs you only S$66. Don't forget to get your ticket printed at home to show it at the ticket check point later.

... all the rides and shows ...

As of its opening, Universal studio offers different rides and shows like Ancient Egypt, Hollywood Theatre, Lost World (Jurassic Park) etc. You will get the map of all those attractions at the ticket check point.


We are redeeming our vouchers here ...

Right after you got your ticket scanned, turn left, show your ticket and you will get two vouchers, ($5 each voucher) one to redeem for food and one to redeem for gift. You can redeem your vouchers at all gift or food shops/stalls inside Universal Studio.

So it is not enough exploring the whole rides and shows at Universal Studio just for one day. I have been there twice but still some shows & rides missed.

Pattaya Beach

It will take one and a half hour from Bangkok to Pattaya by rented car. You can rent a car for 2,000 Baht for 12 hours. Languange will be a problem in Thailand but you still can find some people speak English.

This is how you find seafood by the Pattaya beach. It costs us 100 Baht for 3 plates trhough bargaining. Eating with sour sauce .. hmm so yummy !

Inside the LCCT

If your aircraft landed at LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal), after you got your luggage scanned (Customs check point), right on your left side there are bus ticket counters. One of them is Sky Bus. Their rate is standard RM 9, applicable for both kids and adults for one way, point to point shuttle service.

It will take you about 1 hour and 15 minutes to KL Central.

And if your aircraft landed at Kualalumpur International Airport, you can take KLIA Express train, it will cost you RM 35 for adult and RM 15 for kid (up to 13). It will take you about 30 minutes to reach KL Central.

June 2009 - N1H1 flu virus has been labelled "Pandemic" and it is spreading from person to person worldwide. This has made us panic and we thought to cancell our trip but we knew this would make our kids disappointed as we have planned this school holiday trip for almost a year. After a month we realized that panic would not help anyone so we educated ourself and took reasonable precautions.

A strict dress code applies here. We must be properly dressed before entered the temple. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. Women must be similarly modestly dressed. If we show up at the front gate improperly dressed, the guard will lead us to a booth near the entrance that can provide us "proper" clothes (a deposit is required).

Bus to GEnting

You can take bus from KL Sentral which leaves every 30 minutes.Ticket counter is at 2nd floor (food court and banking centre). The fare is RM 9 includes the skyway cable car rides.

Cable Car

The bus will stop only at the skyway station and you will complete your journey by cable car. It won't take more than 2 hours to reach Genting Highlands from KL Sentral.
